Let’s stop and breathe. See and feel.

Biography

Luba Kholov is a New York-based artist known for her evocative watercolor and acrylic paintings, which blend clarity with impressionistic elements.  Born and raised in a Russian village, Kholov's work often features motifs from her childhood, such as trees, birds, and wildflower fields, reflecting her deep connection to nature. A self-taught artist, she began developing her drawing skills in 2015.

Beyond her artistic practice, Kholov is a multifaceted creative. After relocating to New York City in 2006, she became a yoga teacher, integrating mindfulness into her creative process. In 2014, she wrote a novel The Road to My Calling, weaving stories about yoga, nature, and art. During the pandemic, she spent time in the Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania, where she expanded her creative horizons by writing poetry and experimenting with acrylics. This period reinforced her appreciation for balancing the dynamic energy of urban life with nature’s tranquility.

Now residing in Brooklyn, NY with her husband and son, Kholov continues to explore the interplay between nature and urban environments in her art. Her vibrant work aims to create serene oases amid the city’s hustle. Her approach blends meticulous observation with poetic interpretation, echoing the pictorial language of John James Audubon in its fusion of detail and emotional resonance.
